Mindful Musings

Mindful Musings is a random collection of thoughts, lessons, insights and words of encouragement.

Throughout my 30-plus years in leadership roles, both at work and in church, I have learned more than I can remember. On top of that, life has a way of teaching us quite a bit if we will but pay attention. As a Sunday School teacher, development coach, team leader and author, I strive to find unique ways to present important concepts. It is my desire to share some of those things with you by providing something new each month. I hope you enjoy the thoughts I share, and pray that they will help you in some way on your life’s journey. Feel free to share your comments each month. You may also send questions and suggestions to me via the Contact page. I would love to hear from you!

We have bought into the notion that we can do anything if we will just believe. We have trusted the person telling us…

Flag Day

Many years ago, my wife and I were blessed to take a vacation in a foreign land. It was absolutely beautiful and we instantly fell in love with that tropical paradise. However, even though the people were friendly and most of them did speak English, I still felt out of place. After all, it wasn’t…

It’s Your Reason

I’m a writer, and yet there are many times when I don’t feel like writing. I will sometimes go for weeks without putting any thoughts on paper. Okay, not really on paper but in a computer word document. I find this interesting, and decided to analyze myself a little bit to find out why I…

Such a Time as This

Author’s Note: As I considered the concept of this article, and even as I was writing it, I questioned whether it was something that I should share. I knew going in that people could misunderstand the purpose or misinterpret what I was trying to say. But then I realized that such dangers have always existed,…
